THE MONUMENT
An early photograph of the Monument on the London Road showing locals with their haywagon. In 1915 King George V attended the Monument to review the troops before they left for Gallipoli.

These three photos were taken on a very wet Sunday October 16th 2008, when the Royal Dublin Fusiliers gathered at The Monument to remember the soldiers, both Irish and English, who died at Gallipoli.
